On Monday, the air quality in Delhi again fell into the “very poor” category.
If we look at the data available on the Central Pollution Control Board website, even on Monday, the air quality level is above 350 at most places in Delhi.
This is also a “very poor” level of air quality.
The increasing layer of foam in Delhi’s Yamuna is also becoming a big problem.
On Monday, the air in Anand Vihar area in Delhi was found to be the most polluted. In Anand Vihar, the AQI was recorded at 357 am.
Moreover, a thick layer of foam is also seen in the Yamuna river in Kalindi Kunj area of Delhi.
Now there has been political rhetoric on the issue of pollution in Delhi. On the same issue, former UP Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav also posted on social media X.
Akhilesh wrote, “The havoc caused by pollution in Delhi has become an ‘annual’ issue. Wherever the central government of a country is located, if the central government cannot do anything to keep the environment clean and healthy, what about the rest of the country? This is called darkness under the lamp.
Targeting the BJP, the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh and the central government, Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “The BJP government, which claims to be the leader of the country across the world, is unable to save the image of the country from the destruction tarnished in the capital itself. It also houses the offices of ambassadors and high commissioners of countries across the world. What would be the signal to them? It is a failure of the management and policies of the BJP government.”
Targeting the UP BJP government, Akhilesh wrote, “Now the effects of this devastation have started reaching UP. Be it water pollution in the Yamuna river or air pollution, it has a serious impact on human health and also on the Taj Mahal. The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is unable to see anything, it will now have an excuse for fog. In such a situation, the society is asked to protect life and health.
On Sunday, Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party claimed that Delhi is facing a severe water crisis due to the high amount of ammonia in the Yamuna river.
The Aam Aadmi Party government blames the problem on industrial waste flowing into the Yamuna from Haryana.
The party said that water treatment plants (WTPs) in Sonia Vihar and Bhagirathi are struggling to cope with the ammonia content in the raw water of Yamuna, disrupting supply in the national capital.
The Delhi Water Board on Sunday announced that due to high ammonia levels in the Yamuna, many parts of the national capital will face water shortage till November 1.
