Delhi’s air pollution status in ‘bad’ category ahead of Diwali

Air quality in many areas of Delhi has been classified in the ‘poor’ category.

On Wednesday, October 30, an AQI of 228 was recorded. Due to pollution, even before Diwali, the Delhi government banned the use of firecrackers.

According to PTI, 377 teams have been deployed to enforce the ban on firecrackers in Delhi.

According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi ranks fourth among the worst cities in India in terms of air pollution.

The CPCB has released the Air Quality Index (AQI) of 255 cities on social media platform X.

Of these, the air in 21 cities is good, while in 90 cities it is in the satisfactory category.

The air quality in 122 cities is in the moderate category and in 22 cities in the poor category.
