Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora of the Shiv Sena Shinde faction will file his nomination from the Worli Assembly seat in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Milind Deora told news agency PTI: “Balasaheb Thackeray and my father Murli Deora were very close. This is not a personal fight. It is a political fight.”
“I don’t want to run any negative campaign. Chief Minister Shinde only wants positive development of the nation.”
The Worli Assembly seat has now become a high-profile seat as Milind is pitted against MLA Aditya Thackeray. Thackeray is a certified MLA of Shiv Sena (UBT).
Why did Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena field Milind Deora against Aditya Thackeray in Maharashtra?
On Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena announced Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora on its second list as a candidate.
His participation in the local assembly elections as an MP is attracting the attention of many people.
There are three “armies” pitted against each other in this seat – Shiv Sena, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
