Threat of blast in Tirupati, email came to blow up hotels, police is searching all night

A bomb threat was declared in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, following which the state police swung into action. According to unofficial information, information about the planting of a bomb in the hotel was conveyed over phone and email. After receiving information about bombs in hotels, the Tirupati police carried out a thorough search of the hotels in the city.

The bomb disposal team raided several hotels on Thursday (October 24, 2024) between 10 pm and 2 am. Three hotels near Leelamhal were threatened to be blown up. The police are busy investigating the details of the threatening phone call and are taking necessary precautions to ensure public safety.

The email through which the threats were sent is said to have allegedly included the name of drug lord Jafar Siddiq, who was arrested in February this year. Circle Inspector Srinivasulu of Tirupati East Police Station confirmed the incident and assured that those responsible for the threats had been identified.

Inspector Srinivasulu said, “Three hotels have received notifications of a bomb threat. A case has been registered in connection with the email and investigation is underway from various angles. We will trace the perpetrators soon.”
