The US has responded to the Israeli attack on the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya.
The US called it “terrible.” The Hamas-led Health Ministry says at least 93 people were killed or killed in the attack.
Aid workers say the target was a five-story building.
The Israeli military says: “Today (Tuesday) we received reports of civilian casualties in the Beit Lahiya area.”
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said: “The United States is concerned by reports of civilian casualties in this incident. “This was a terrible consequence of this terrible incident.”
Miller pointed to reports that two dozen children were killed in the attack. He said the civilian deaths in the recent attack remind us once again why we must end this war.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been carrying out attacks in the northern Gaza Strip for two weeks. Towns such as Jabaliya, Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun are in the crosshairs.
