Gautam Gambhir dropped after Test series defeat against New Zealand, replaced for South Africa tour

Currently, the Indian team is playing a three-match Test series against New Zealand. Team India lost the series after losing the first two matches. With the defeat to New Zealand, the Indian team lost the Test series at home after 18 years. Team India suffered this embarrassing defeat when Gautam Gambhir was the head coach. Now, a shocking news has come to light, in which it has been said that there has been a change in the coach of Team India for the next tour of South Africa.

After the conclusion of the Test series against New Zealand, the Indian team will head to South Africa for a four-match T20 series. During this tour, it will not be Gautam Gambhir who will be considered as the head coach of Team India but former Team India veteran batsman VVS Laxman.

A report published on Cricjab claims that VVL Laxman will be seen as the head coach of the Indian team during the tour of South Africa. The report further states that the decision has been taken keeping in mind the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Gambhir will be travelling with the Indian team for the Test series in Australia. The report states that a senior BCCI official confirmed that Laxan will be the coach for the South Africa tour.

The report states that the four-match T20 series between India and South Africa has not been scheduled in advance. This was recently decided by the Board of Control for Cricket in India and Cricket in South Africa. The T20 series between India and South Africa will start on November 8, while the last match of the final series will be played on November 15. Team India will leave for South Africa around November 4 for the series.

On the other hand, Team India may leave for Australia on November 10 or 11 for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will start on November 22. In such a situation, it is not possible for the head coach to remain with Team India for both the series.

We announce that along with VVS Laxman, the rest of the team working at the National Cricket Academy will also be going on tour to South Africa, among whom may be Sairaj Bahutule, Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Subhdeep Ghosh.
