Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has filed her nomination for the Lok Sabha bypoll from Wayanad.
After submitting her nomination, Priyanka Gandhi said, “I am very happy. It makes me proud to be the UDF (United Democratic Front) candidate.”
He said, “If the people of Wayanad elect me, it will be a great honor for me to represent them.”
All senior Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi were present on the occasion of the nomination.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi was the MP from Wayanad. He contested the Rae Bareli and Wayanad elections and won both the seats, after which Rahul Gandhi left the Wayanad seat.
Polling will be held in Wayanad on November 13 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.
