Jammu Kashmir: Terrorist attack on military vehicle near LOC also resulted in death of two martyred soldiers and two personnel; PAFW claims responsibility

There are reports of a terror attack near the LOC in Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists attacked an army vehicle. Two soldiers and two army personnel were killed in the attack. Two soldiers were injured. The terrorist outfit PAFF has claimed responsibility for the attack. It is a proxy front of Jaish-e-Mohammed.

It is said that an army vehicle was attacked near Nagin Post area in Botapathar Gulmarg near the LOC. Police have confirmed the incident. However, confirmation from the army is awaited. Sources say it could be an infiltration attempt.

Immediate action should be taken against terrorists – LG

Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha said he spoke to senior army officers about the heinous terror attack in Butapathri sector. He has been ordered to take swift and appropriate action to kill the terrorists. The action is on. The sacrifice of our martyrs will not be in vain. Condolences to their families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Omar Abdullah said: I strongly condemn the attack.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his sorrow over the attack. He took to Twitter to share the very unfortunate news of the attack on military vehicles in Buta Pathri area of north Kashmir in which several people were killed and injured. The recent series of attacks in Kashmir is of grave concern. I strongly condemn the attack and convey my heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of those who lost their lives. I also pray for the full and speedy recovery of the injured.

Mehbooba Mufti expresses sorrow

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti expressed sorrow over the attack. He tweeted: “Shocked and deeply saddened by the terrorist attack on an army convoy in Baramulla in which a civilian was killed.” I unequivocally condemn this and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.

Terrorists also attack worker

The attack comes at a time when terrorists opened fire on a worker in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir just a few hours ago. The injured worker has been identified as Pritam, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Three days ago, seven people were killed in the attack

Three days earlier, terrorists had attacked a camp of workers working on a tunnel construction project in Ganderbal itself. Six workers and a doctor were killed in the attack.
