Supreme Court grants bail to accused in alleged Delhi liquor policy scam

The Supreme Court has granted bail to jailed Amandeep Singh Dhalla in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam case.

According to Live Law, following the Supreme Court’s order, all the accused who were in jail in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam case have been granted bail.

The accused also include former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and BRS leader K Kavita.

A division bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujjwal Bhuyan in the Supreme Court delivered this order in an order of the Delhi High Court on June 4, 2024.

The Delhi High Court had dismissed Dhalla’s plea for regular bail in the CBI case. This Supreme Court order was challenged by Amandeep Singh Dhalla in the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court said during the hearing, “There are around 300 witnesses in this case which the CBI has to examine. The Supreme Court has observed that the accused have been in custody for the last one and a half years.

The Supreme Court has said that further remand will not be effective. Amandeep Singh Dhall has already been released on bail in a money laundering case related to an alleged liquor policy scam.
